What's involved? What documentation is required? How much money is reasonable for the cost of setting up? Where's a good place to move? What kind of work is available for travellers? What's to see and do? General advice is very much appreciated.

depending on what you plan on doing depends on the amount of cash you need

when traveling for example tent or hotel

how much traveling and how

know some people from Germany that travel Canada on $600.CDN a month, have meet others that spend that in a day

Good Luck

PS. You have to visit Nova Scotia in the Fall

Male it a Priority to Live in British Columbia.

If you absolutely have to have a second choice - it should be Nova Scotia. Avoid the stuff in between.

For a place to live Vancouver is great for Aussies because of the weather and lifestyle. You think you know cold till you get to a Canadian winter!
