It really depends on where you are wanting to go. I think it is best to find someone that specilizes in your destination. This way you know they will help you as much as possible with your vacation.

In most cases the cost between travel agencies is the same price. You just want to find someone that is really good at what they do and that specilzes in the area they are selling.

If you are looking for a travel agency, I would suggest staying away from online discounters, i.e. expedia, orbitz, priceline, etc. If you book through one of these companies you are on your own and you won't get any help, you have to do the booking, planning etc. I'm not saying not to use a online travel agency, in my experience they are better than local travel agencies. I'm just saying that you should stay away from the online discounters if you are needing the assistance of a travel agent.

I hope that this helps!

Expedia.com is a great online travel agency. I don't really recommend the ones in malls like Sears travel and all that stuff.

Carlson Wagonlit is very thorough and a good deal for your dollar.
